Heed Obelisk Si Classic
Amikor 3 évvel ezelőtt megalkottunk az Obelisk Si30/X30 Anniversary modellt a Heed márkanév 30 éves fennállásának jubileumára még nem gondoltuk, hogy a típus valaha volt legsikeresebb termékét hozzuk létre. A limitált kiadást, ami egyébként nem volt bontható, azaz az Si30 és az X30 csak együtt használható, alig 3 hónap alatt elkapkodták. Mire az eufórikus tesztek megjelentek, a termék már nem volt elérhető, és ha ez nem lett volna elég nagy probléma, a francia audio és zenei élet ikonikus kritikusa, Thierry Soveaux összeállította pályafutásának 10 legjobb integrált erősítőjét és ebbe a listába bekerül az Si30/X30! Erre a helyzetre nem igazán voltunk felkészülve, megoldást kellett találjunk. Így született meg az Obelisk Classic, ami egy az egyben az évfordulós változat annyi különbséggel, hogy a Si Classic működik a külső X2 Classic tápegység nélkül is, ahogy a Si3. Természetesen az X2 Classic használatával válik teljesen egyenértékűvé a Si30/X30 szettel.
De mit is rejt a tető alatt a Classic, miben más mint a lassan másfél évtizede változatlan Si3? Semmi forradalmit, "csak" mindenből egy picit többet, jobbat, fejlettebbet. Mindazt, amit megtalálni a Thesis sorozat készülékeiben, azt megkapta a Classic is. 'Custom made' Mundorf, Nichicon és Panasonic kondenzátorok, speciálisan impregnált és alulgerjesztett Airlink transzformátorok, nem látványos ámde lényeges beállítási és áramköri eltérések. Viszont mindent a hangminőség és nem a szolgáltatás érdekében! Mindezek összessége pedig egy olyan szinergiát hozott létre, ami azt hiszem joggal aspirál arra a címre, amivel a legtöbben illették, illetik. Ha az eredeti Si3 számos szakíró szerint egy kiváló félvezetős erősítőbe oltott 300B trióda lelke, akkor a Classic ennek az útnak a megkoronázása. Az árkülönbség kb. 20% a Si3/X2 szetthez képest, a hangminőség viszont egy másik világot idéz. Ez az erősítő minden porcikájában egy klasszikus, ami még nem a szolgáltatásaival, hanem a lényegre törő és kompromisszum mentes hangminőségével hívja fel magára a figyelmet. Egy több évtizede tartó saga talán utolsó állomása azoknak, akik az otthoni zenehallgatást még a maga egyszerűségében egy katartikus élmény átélésének tartják. És az ő számukra ez az erősítő egy valóban utolsó állomás lehet, a megfelelő forráskészülék és hangsugárzó összeállításban. Hosszú évekre, évtizedekre megoldás, nem csak egy stáció!
When we created the Obelisk Si30/X30 Anniversary model 3 years ago to celebrate 30 years of the Heed brand, we didn't think we were creating the most successful product of its type ever. The limited edition, which by the way was not available for separate use, i.e. the Si30 and X30 could only be used together, was snapped up in just under 3 months. By the time the euphoric tests were published, the product was no longer available, and if that wasn't a big enough problem, iconic French audio and music writer Thierry Soveaux has compiled the 10 best integrated amplifiers of his career and in this list the Si30/X30 is included! We were not really prepared for this situation, we had to find a solution. And so the Obelisk Classic was born, which is a one-off of the anniversary version, with the difference that the Si Classic works without the external X2 Classic power supply, just like the Si3. Of course, using the X2 Classic makes it fully equivalent to the Si30/X30 set.
But what is the Classic hiding under the cover, how is it different from the Si3, which has been unchanged for almost a decade and a half? Nothing revolutionary, "just" a bit more of everything, better, more advanced. Everything you find in the Thesis series, the Classic has got.
'Custom made' Mundorf, Nichicon and Panasonic capacitors, specially impregnated and underexcited Airlink transformers, unobtrusive but significant set-up and circuitry differences. But all for the sake of sound quality and not features! All of this has created a synergy that I think rightly aspires to the title that most people have given it. If the original Si3 is the soul of a 300B triode in a superb semiconductor amplifier, according to many reviewers, the Classic is the crowning glory of this journey. The price difference is about 20% compared to the Si3/X2 set, but the sound quality is a world apart. This amplifier is a classic in every sense of the word, yet it's not its features that draw attention to itself, but its essential and uncompromising sound quality. Perhaps the final stage in a decades-long saga for those who consider home listening, even in its simplicity, a cathartic experience. And for them, this amplifier could be a truly final stop, with the right source device and speaker set-up. A solution for years, decades, not just a stage!
